To apply for NDIS, you must meet specific criteria, including age, residency, and disability requirements.
Am I Eligibile for NDIS?
To eligible to access the NDIS, you must meet the following criteria:
- Age Be aged less than 65 when you first enter the NDIS
- Residency Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category Visa
- Disability Have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities.
- Availability Live in Australia where the NDIS is available
Children under six years old may meet the early intervention requirements, if they have an impairment or condition that is likely to be permanent and there is evidence that getting supports now (early interventions) will help by:
Reducing how much help is needed to do things because of their impairment in the future; Improving or reducing deterioration of their functional capacity; or Assisting family and carers to keep helping them; and Supports that are most appropriately funded through the NDIS, and not through another service system
